This article provides instructions for setting up Mac Mail with a view to archiving your Carleton Gmail account when you leave the college. 

Step 1 - Setting up Mac Mail

If you already have Mac Mail set up to access your Carleton Gmail account, please skip ahead to Step 2.

There are two different processes for setting up Mac Mail, depending on the precise version that you are running, which itself is based on your version of Mac OS. In order to determine your version, click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select "About this Mac...".

Step 2 - Archiving Your mail

  1. If not already added, add carleton email to Mac Mail.
  2. Once email has been added and properly synced with Mac Mail right click on the carleton mail box and choose the option export mail box.
  3. You will then be prompted to choose a destination folder for the exported mailbox.  
  4. Click Choose and make sure that the mailbox is in the folder that you chose.
