Basic Instructions

  1. Record your video using YouTube's Webcam Capture
  2. Open Assignment in Moodle, create a hyperlink to your video page.
  3. When you submit your video, you'll see that Moodle automatically embeds your video in Moodle for your professor to view.



Step-by-Step Instructions

1) Login to YouTube.

You can use a private YouTube account, or use the Carleton domain to create an account.

2) Click the Upload button (at the top of the page).

3) Under Webcam Capture, click the Record button.

4) Record your assignment.

5) Click the blue Upload button.

6) Set the video Privacy to Unlisted.

Consider setting your default privacy to Unlisted.

7) Click the name of the video ("Webcam video from ....").

8) Copy the URL in the address bar of your browser.

9) Open the assignment in Moodle.

10) In the text editor, type 'video' and select the text.

11) Click the chain-link icon to create a link.

12) Paste your YouTube video link into the URL of the link box.

13) Click insert.

14) Save your assignment submission, and you'll see that it's been embedded into Moodle.
