Lists.carleton.edu (sympa) Decommissioned

As of March 30th, our outdated mailing list service has been decommissioned. Any messages sent to a "lists.carleton.edu" email address will bounce. Lists that need to stay active have or need to be migrated to Google Groups. For assistance contact the ITS helpdesk at 507-222-5999 or helpdesk@carleton.edu.

Mailing lists are managed on https://lists.carleton.edu/.

Adding yourself to a list

  1. Log in to https://lists.carleton.edu/ using your Carleton email and password.
  2. Choose a type of list from the list of categories or, to see all lists, click List of lists on the upper right. It may take awhile for the page to load.
  3. Find and click on the list.
  4. On the left side of the screen, click Subscribe. If you were successful, the next page should say "subscribe: action completed".

Removing yourself from a list

  1. Log in to https://lists.carleton.edu/ using your Carleton email and password.
  2. In the "Manage your subscriptions" pane on the left, find the desired list and click on it.
  3. Click Unsubscribe on the left. If you were successful, the next page should say "signoff: action completed". You should also get an email confirmation.

Request a New List

  1. Log in to https://lists.carleton.edu/ using your Carleton email and password.
  2. Near the top there is a "tab" labeled "Create list". Click it.
  3. You can choose to either (1) copy the settings of a list you already own or (2) create new settings. In either case, follow the corresponding directions and click "copy list configuration" (for 1) or "Submit your creation request" (for 2).
