Purpose/Overview

Sibelius is a piece of software developed by Avid Notation Systems and created for Mac that is used to create beautiful scores and sheet music for printing. Sibelius has an intuitive, easy-to-use, notation entry system. Sibelius also includes various extras such as MIDI entry capabilities, and Scorch, which takes scanned-in scores or PDFs and formats them into Sibelius editing files.

Windows XP 32-bit SP2 or later, Windows Vista 32-bit SP1 or later, Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit, 512MB+ RAM, 550MB hard disk space, DVD-ROM drive.

Mac OS X 10.4.11, Mac OS X 10.5.8 or Mac OS X 10.6 or later, 512MB+ RAM, 550MB hard disk space, DVD-ROM drive.

Version

Carleton is using Sibelius 6, the most recent version of Sibelius. Sibelius has all the capabilities of previous versions and more. It will also open files created in older versions, and files created in Sibelius 6 can be accessed in older versions.
